Ms. Kim has been helping my husband and I create our wills. Estate planning is such a difficult business as is that it is nice to have someone explain the process in a way that we can understand. It has been an eye opener on what goes into planning who will take care of our children after we pass on, trusts to protect our assets, advanced directives on health... But she has been very good at explaining everything clearly to us. It's been a pleasure to work with her.

I have worked with Hee Sun Kim ("Kim") three times during the past two years. She created a living trust for me and my husband after we were married and has assisted me with the administration of two trusts for which I was a trustee (one of which is current).

Hee Sun Kim is very knowledgeable about estate planning law. She is generous with her time and is very quick in replying to email or phone calls. She is in the city (San Francisco), but she has helped set up trusts for people in the Peninsula and other Bay areas. Always is very kind and gives great explanation so understanding one's estate planning documents is not daunting or overwhelming.

Kim just completed our living trust and it was a great experience working with her. She took the time to get to know us and to understand our needs. She explained in very clear terms a variety of options, and the pro's/con's related to each. She is very knowledgeable and responded to all of our emails and calls in a very timely manner. My wife and I feel very comfortable knowing that she will be our attorney going forward and that our estate planning documents will be updated as needed. Hee Sun (Kim) has both broad and comprehensive knowledge of the law as well as specific knowledge of her particular specialization in estate law. I am the father of two children. I've heard that in California you have to go to court if someone becomes incapacitated or dies and there is no estate plan set up. I met with Hee Sun Kim (Kim) about what I should do for my family. I could tell quite easily from our discussions that Kim is very passionate and knowledgeable about estate planning law. She provides both hourly and flat rate fee arrangements, and is willing to travel for those with mobility issues who wish to avoid having to come into the city.

She may run her own law firm, but this is after many years of working with bigger law firms that specialize in immigration matters, foreign assets, LGBT issues and sophisticated taxable estates or family structures. She never talks down to you. And she addresses each of your concerns and questions with great care. And her explanations of the complex trust world gives you confidence your documents are being prepared by a very capable, knowledgeable attorney. That she is not as old is an advantage because you know it is likely she will be around to help your children when they need to take over.
